What we process, why and for how long
Reports
When you tap HAZARD or ANIMAL, the app sends the position, the GPS accuracy, the time and a random device ID. We use them to show the report to others and to count confirmations. We delete these details after 30 days. The report itself (center, counter, times, without device ID) stays for up to 13 months.
Device ID
Your browser creates a random number and keeps it in its local storage. It is not linked to your name, e-mail address or phone number. We use it to count each rider once per report, to limit misuse and to count invitations. It is deleted when you clear the site data in your browser.
Radar sessions
When the radar has your position, the app sends an area of about 1 km. The server keeps only the country, the device ID, the time, how many reports of others you saw and how many pings you got. No position and no route. We delete sessions after 13 months.
Invitations
Your invite code is linked to your device ID. For each invited rider, we keep their device ID and a hash of their IP address with a key that changes every day. We use them to count an invitation once and to allow at most three per IP address and day. We delete invitations and codes after 13 months, the daily key after 2 days.
Usage numbers
The server counts events such as “a report was created in CH” or “an invitation counted”. Without device ID and without position. We delete them after 13 months.
Protection against misuse
To limit misuse, the server counts requests per IP address. We delete these counters after 1 day. The web server also writes technical logs with the IP address, for errors and misuse.
Settings on your device
Radius, map orientation, appearance, sound, your Trail Pass (km, riding time, streak, badges) and reports that wait for a connection stay in the local storage of your browser. The language you choose is stored in the cookie tb_sprache, so that the server shows the page in your language.
Admin login
Only for the team: the login link for the admin area is sent by e-mail through Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France).
Statistics
At the moment, we do not use a statistics service.
Legal basis
We process these data to run the radar you use and to protect it against misuse (Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection; in the EU Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR).
Hosting
The hosting provider and its country follow with the imprint before the public start.
Your rights
You can ask what we store about your device ID, and you can ask us to delete it. Write to the contact address in the imprint and add your device ID. You find it in the radar under ⚙. You can also delete the device ID yourself: clear the site data of Trailbuster in your browser.
